My vision as Co-Founder of Still Water is to empower students and professionals to solve their communication challenges. I have been working as a professional actor on local and regional stages for over 20 years including the NJ Shakespeare Festival, Blackfriar's Theatre and Burning Coal. I am passionate about the art of storytelling in all forms and have had the the opportunity to work extensively both on-camera and off.
Television, film, commercial and voice-over credits include Drop Dead Diva, Alphabet Killer, Adrenaline, Secrets and Lies, Live Evil, Battle Skipper, Lowe's, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and others. I have also worked behind the scenes as translator and dialect coach for the Michelle Dockery series, Good Behavior, and have had the pleasure of working with incredibly talented actors and directors including Ryan Philippe, Adam Arkin, Claire Kilner, Charlene Amoia and Cary Elwes.
My goal is simple- to help actors and non-actors alike become better performers on the stage of their choosing.
Fun Fact: I keep a packed suitcase under my bed to satisfy my need for spontaneous travel.
I have been a professional actor, playwright, director of short films and award-winning theatre director. I have devoted over 20 years to helping build confidence and strengthen speaking skills. As a long-time college professor, I have fine-tuned how to develop talent and deepen connections to character and materials.
My extensive work in film, television and commercials includes credits for Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Ashby, Nashville, Nate and Gigi, Novant Health, Lowe's Home Improvement and Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Besides spokesperson work, I also enjoy Emcee-ing various corporate and charity events locally. I have also served for many years as Artistic Director for a local semi-professional theatre company in Raleigh. I combine my teaching techniques for acting students and my experience as an actor, spokesperson and Master of Ceremonies to help clients achieve their goals.
My passion as a Public Speaking Coach is believing everyone should own their stage.
Fun Fact: With more than a few labor-intensive hobbies such as wood working and gardening, I do not enjoy idle time.
As an Emmy-nominated TV producer for PBS, playwright, speechwriter, and performer, I come to Still Water with twenty years’ of experience working with individuals and institutions crafting their public message and coaching on-camera interview skills. I also co-produced and co-wrote the DVD program “Kidsmartz” starring Bryan Cranston for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Additionally, I've worked with authors, actors, and attorneys on crafting speeches for book tours and award ceremonies, as well as keynote and commencement addresses.
I recently wrote the play TAKING LIBERTY (about Abigail & John Adams), which is currently in development for Broadway. As an actor, I've performed onstage in New York and regionally. My work as a voice actor can be heard in several animated TV series (like POKEMON).
Our lives are so busy that we sometimes don't take the time to appreciate how special, extraordinary, and unique we are. My role is to help you, rediscover YOU! Don't sell yourself short - there's no one else like you!
Fun Fact: Your kids might recognize my voice as that of Agent Stepmother from the Netflix film, SECRET MAGIC CONTROL AGENCY!
Our name, Still Water, is not only a nod to our co-Founder's first theatre company, Stillwater Theatre, but also perfectly represents the ideal mindset we help develop for effective public speaking. We believe that at the heart of a great performance is a focused, prepared and STILL mind.
